With reference to the proposed construction of this large Day Dock at Hongkong by this Company, we have the honour to put the following forward for your consideration;-
1.
The dimensions of the dock when completed will be 1200 ft. long by 120 ft. width of entrance, with 40 ft. of water on the sill, which will make it the largest dry dock in the world. Closely adjacent to this dock are situated our shipbuilding yards, machine shops and other necessary establishments which are at present exceedingly well equipped with the most modern machinery for ship- building and ship repairing.
2. The Company has mequired the necessary land for the purpose, and are at present levelling the whole of the site which will be occupied by the Dock and Pump House at a cost of about
